The Alouette II was produced between 1956-1975 with a total of over thirteen hundred being produced. It is of note that following the merger of Sud-Est with Nord Aviation in July 1970 to form Aérospatiale, this helicopter was marketed as the Aérospatiale Alouette II (SE 313B). Nearly 50 armed forces were operating the Alouette II when production ceased in 1975 and the German Luftwaffe continued to use them operationally until the late 1980's for it's border patrol with East Germany.
