Hispano HA 1112 M-1-L Fighter Plane

The Hispano HA-1112 fighter was a Spanish built version of the famous German Messerschmitt Bf 109G fighter made under licence after the end of WWII. As German Daimler Benz Db605 engines were available , early versions of this fighter had to be powered by Hispano-Suiza engines and later versions used the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine of WW2 Spitfire and Mustang fame.

Spot the Difference!

The most noticeable visual difference between the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G and the Spanish Hispano HA-1112 is the engine cowling, which had to house the new "non-inverted"  Rolls-Royce Merlin V-12 engine, this has resulted in the aircraft quickly acquiring the nickname of the "Buchon” (pouter pigeon).
