The Curtiss AT-9 Jeep was not an easy plane to fly, many pilots have commented that it would have been better to train directly on the service aircraft they were to fly operationally. Due to it's poor flying tendencies, when the AT-9 Jeep's were taken out of service, they were purposely not sold onto the commercial and private markets, in consequence only two Curtiss-Wright AT-9 Jeeps survive today.
