De Havilland Australia DHA.84A Dragon III

The De Havilland Australia DHA.84A Dragon III was produced during WW2 under licence by  De Havilland Aircraft Pty Ltd (DHA) in Melbourne, eighty seven aircraft were produced in total for the Royal Australian Air-force (RAAF), they were primarily used in a navigation trainer role but also were used as communications and courier aircraft. The most visible differences between the older Dragon Rapide/Dominie design are the wing shape, strut configuration, fuselage glazing and wheel spats.

The engines fitted to this aircraft are de Havilland Gipsy Major 10 rather than the de Havilland Gipsy Major 6 fitted to the older Rapide/Dominie. The aircraft pictured above was built in 1943 for the RAAF and is currently operated in the UK.
