de Havilland DHC-4 C-7 Caribou Military Transport

The de Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou was a short takeoff and landing (STOL) tactical cargo aircraft which entered service with the United States Air Force and Army in 1961. A total of 307 Caribous were produced and remained in service until all had eventually been replaced operationally by the C-130 Hercules in the 1980's (the last to be retired were operated by the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve). Although the US armed forces were the main military users of the de Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou they were also operated by others including the Royal Australian Air Force who retired their last example in late 2009.
