Fairchild C-123 Provider Military Transport

The C-123 Provider was originally designed by Chase Aircraft as an assault glider aircraft for the USAF but ended up being built as a transport aircraft by Fairchild Aircraft by adding twin engines. The C-123 Provider first flew in October 1949, initially powered by twin Pratt & Whitney R-2800-CB-15 air-cooled radial piston engines, and later as the C-123A Provider powered by twin General Electric J47-GE-11 turbojets as used on the Boeing B-47 Stratojet.
